Pierce has gone from not wanting to go in the big pool or put his head under to diving for sticks in the big pool and swimming! I don't know if its the swim lessons or peer pressure seeing his buddies at the pool doing it but we have been quite impressed. His swim lessons at the Y is one or two teachers to him and one other little boy which has been great. I'm guessing the time slot we chose wasn't too popular but we are enjoying the one on one attention.
Jason and I finally realized why Holt doesn't talk too much. Why would he ever need to talk with a brother that NEVER stops!! Pierce's talking has gotten out of control. Its as if he wakes up in the morning, turns on a button, and doesn't shut it off until he's asleep at night. Those of you with older children are probaly laughing at me but I really had no idea someone could talk nonstop all day long. But truly it is amazing. He tells us the same stories, the same questions, and never runs out of things to say. It is pretty cute..well most of the time, it can also be a little exhausting on mommy some days. He also has picked up on things we say and expressions from friends. The other day I was humbled once again to realize that God can use our children to point out our weaknesses and sins. Such as when we were waiting for daddy to get home from work to eat and Pierce says, "Where in the world is he? This makes me sooo nervous." Unfortunately he was quoting his worry wort of a mommy, although I think he combined two different conversations because usually nervous would not be the word I would choose but maybe mad, frusterated..etc at the end of a 12 hour day. Here are some other cute sayings this week...
"Remind me to go to the store and buy some napkins and stuff." (he adds and stuff on to a lot of his sentences??)
"I have like two of these." (like is also inserted into most sentences)
"That's pretty cool mommy."
We had a big first in the Latta family this weekend. The boys BOTH slept until 7:45 on saturday morning. I know to my friends with late sleepers this is not big deal but this is a huge deal in our house. Both of our boys have never slept this late together, ever ever, and even better it was a Saturday. Holt actually slept until 8:30 that morning which was another first. And then took a 3 hour nap that day which is maybe a second!
