Trashmen

This is a video of the boys playing trashmen. They have been doing this all weekend. Holt adores anything his big brother does and he has really taken to this one. We love it because it is entertaining them but if I hear one more beep from a trash truck I may lose my mind!

Shoes

Holt loves shoes. Since I finally put him in them at 14 months he wants them on all the time. He brings them to me as soon as get dressed or he sees Pierce put his on. He has now mastered walking in his brothers size 10 crocs and even managed to somehow walk in mommy's tennis shoes.

Better watch what we say...

Pierce makes us laugh every day with what he picks up on that we say and his own creations of meanings to words…

I was having a girls night one night and was telling Pierce mommy would be out that night. He said “where are you going?” Mommy’s having a girls night tonight. “Oh I should have a boys night one night.” ….oh really.

We were playing in the cul-de-sac and Pierce loves pointing objects out to Holt and teaching him the word. He pointed to the manhole and said “Holts that’s a manhood.” Funny since his daddy taught him something else was ‘his manhood’.

At the beach one day it was storming but sunny out with no rain. Pierce and I were under the house playing and I said “this is kinda odd that is thundering with nothing else.” Now every day he’ll be doing something and say “this is kinda odd.”

Last night when I was putting Pierce’s pajamas on I told him he got himself a nice little tan. Most of you know my sweet Pierce has some really pale skin year around. So he must of heard his mommy comment before on how white he was because after I said he had a nice tan he said “so I’m not white anymore.”

Pierce likes to be funny and call us Courtney and Jason. It was cute the first time but we usually follow it by telling him that we are mommy or daddy to him. So the other night he said “Jason” in his silly way. We gave him a look and then he said “I’m daddy to you.” At least he knows the right answer.

Beach Trip

My cousins, Bill, Rachel, and Tricia
One of the three fishes that Pierce got in 30 minutes on our last day.

The boys hats say "Pop's Fishing Buddy" and my dad's says "Pierce and Holt's fishing buddy"...guess who got these made?

Playing in the rain!

We just got back from a week at the beach. Besides Holt and I getting sick and our trips to the doctor we had great time. We got to see lots of family which is always fun. We spent a few hours with mommy’s cousin Julie and second cousins Morgan and Quint, visited Mimi (great grandmother) in Myrtle Beach AND got Mellow Mushroom..mommy’s favorite! My Aunt Patricia and Uncle Billy from Philly and my cousins Rachel, Tricia and Billy came for three nights which was really fun. My cousins live in CA, Pittsburgh, and VA so it was a really special treat to have their whole family come. We loved having you guys, thanks so much for coming!! Here were some of our highlights…Pierce went on his first kayak ride with mommy, Holt went on his first bike ride in the bike seat, the boys loved playing in the rain one afternoon, Trash Day (three times a week!), beach time and the boys learning to body surf, Pierce loved being the ‘cracker’ boy while we ate crabs and cracking the crab legs for us, as well as being bucket boy to pick up all of our shells, italian ice, ice cream in Calabash, watching the backhoe fix a broken pipe on the street, and eating way too much yummy food! Here are some of the pictures from the week. Click here for more photos from the beach http://www1.snapfish.com/thumbnailshare/AlbumID=233170671/a=18404324/t_=18404324

Airport and Lunch with Daddy

We went to the airport overlook this week to watch the planes take off and land with some friends. We picked a great day because we were able to see plane after plane land and take off. The boys loved it! Pierce's favorite was an army plane we got to see take off.

Daddy has been working at the Ballantyne office on Friday's for several months now. Most Friday's we meet him for lunch and the boys love it because there is a putting green in front of his building. We are still working on our golf skills and are glad the business men out there who are really trying to practice are patient with us and think we are cute, or we'd be in trouble. And now Daddy works out at Ballantyne several days a week which has been a huge blessing for our family! We are thankful for at least an extra 30 minutes a day at home with us because of the shorter commute time.

Are they their daddy's boy?!

Jason's mom sent him some pictures this week because he needed them for something that his work is doing. I couldn't get over how much Pierce and Holt look like him when he was little. Are my genes even in them at all?

4th of July Week

This week we visited the Charlotte Museum of History's toy exhibit. Both the boys really enjoyed the toys and exploring around the property. Mommy also made her first road trip with the boys by herself to "Keller's Mountain", aka Camp Lurecrest, and we did the neighborhood 4th of July Parade yesterday.

Secret Gem

Last Sunday I went a walk by myself. I had heard there was a playground in the neighborhood behind us that was not too far but had yet to find it. So I was out to find it this morning. Well not only did a find a GREAT park with two separate playgrounds that even my little dare devil would be pretty safe on, I found a soccer field, basketball court, tennis court, and one mile paved greenway. I so was so excited. This is one thing I have truly missed about our old neighborhood, besides my friends, is the great park and pond we had. This park is actually part of the greenway that will eventually connect all the way downtown and then south past our neighborhood. So we have a new outing place that is less than a ten minute walk from our house. We took the boys one night this week and they loved it so I’m sure there will be many more trips in the future. And for my dear Cameron Wood girlfriends that I try to recruit over here this is a major plus, hint hint! If you would like me to post current houses for sale for you I can do that too. :)
