Spring and Consignment Finds

I am not one to be the first in line at a consigment sale or to spend hours going through the racks. It actually overwhelms me a bit and I can't even remember what I'm looking for in the chaos of it all. So as I circled the gym last week at the Y consigment sale I happened upon something great, two dress up costumes that the boys fell in love with. Pierce's had Gabe's space bday party this month and then they learned about space at school this month so he loved his new space suit. Holt's favorite ride at Disney was Buzz Light Year so one this was a score too!

Pierce has a 'small' battle would on his face but was a trooper when it happened.

We are loving this warm weather and finally being able to spend all of our afternoons outside. What a difference it can make in our days and all of our moods! Camden got in our swing for the first time tonight. She loved it, she was giggling the whole time.

Recent Pictures

Camden's great grandmother, Mom Mom made her this super sweet poncho. Please someone in Philly share these pictures with her. I'm hoping to get them in the mail soon when I get to ordering pictures.

Camden has passed the 10 month mark. Its going way to fast. She got her third tooth this week and has another ready to pop through. She has fully taken to table food. Yesterday she ate her first grill cheese, she ate half of it then ate apple, peas and a container of yogurt. She already loves pizza and will pretty much eat anything put in front of her or that is going in my mouth when I'm holding her. She has also sampled rocks, grass, and mulch this week :)

This pose gives a glimpse into her crawl.

Check ups

Holt had his 3 year check up last week and Camden had her 9 month. And we hit both ends of the spectrum. Holt weighted 36 lbs and was 39 inches tall, 90% percentile for both. This is new territory for our family, we've never had a child in in the 90% percentile for weight. Love it! Camden was 16 1/2 lbs and 27 inches tall. Our little peanut was 35% and 15%. They both had great checkups and the doctor was happy with their growth.

Camden will be 10 months old and a few days. She has started eating table food and loves it. She started taking a bottle again this month and even doesn't mind formula. She enjoys playing in the living room and looking out the windows. She loves her fingers and is a mommy's girl. I made it to 9 months without getting paged from nursery at church, not too bad. She loves to stand up and often crawls in with one foot pulled up...something that resembles a crab. When we were cleaning out toys from attic for consignment we found the walker. How funny, with our first child we would had it out two months ago. She took off on it right away. She says ma ma and loves to babble and giggle at her brothers and daddy. Her brothers firetruck is currently her favorite toy.

Its Official..

Pierce is going to Smithfield next year for kindergarten! I received the letter in the mail yesterday. Its funny, I've been so ready for this process of deciding where he would go to be over, yet now that is it, it feels way too real that my baby is really going to kindergarten. Yes, there were tears yesterday as I once again processed that our 'simple' sweet preschool world is going to change and my boy is growing up way to fast. However, God has given us such a peace about sending him to Smithfield and we have been nothing but impressed by the school and staff at the school. Many of you know I attended LOTS of open houses and school visits and honestly didn't think we would end up here, but we are thankful that other doors were clearly closed and that this feels like a good place for Pierce and our family right now.

More Birthday Pics...

Celebrating at school
Everyone wanted to help Holt open his gifts this morning. Pierce had a bit of hard time with it not being his birthday today. However, he did tell us tonight that Holt told him he could put his presents in his cabinet so they would stay 'safe.'
Our breakfast at the pancake house. Holt ate ALL of these chocolate chip pancakes, my last pancake and then told me he was hungry when we got home and had a cereal bar. Only to be followed with pizza at Chuck E. Cheese and 5 tacos for dinner and then cake and icecream. The boy can eat!

Holt turns three today! Oh how we love this boy. He has become such a big boy lately. He dropped his paci, without even so much as a cry. This one took us by total shock, I thought it was going to be a long drawn out battle and he just did it and to my surprise is still taking naps! He also shocked me when we were doing Valentines for school and Pierce was writing out his friends names and his name on his and Holt says “Mommy, I want to write my name.” I was reluctant to hand over the pen thinking he might scribble over his friends names..and what does he do, he writes his name, I couldn’t even believe it. With Pierce I probably sat down with him and showed him how to do this but I have never even taught Holt. So where I use to think they really didn’t learn anything in preschool, not so true with a second child.
He also has started to love to snuggle with me and will randomly come up and hug and kiss me and say, “Love you mommy.” He never was a snuggler so this has melted my heart, I can’t get enough of hugs. He also comes up and says “rub noses mommy.”
His language seems to improve by the day. Even to the point of me wondering, are you really only three? As the other night I was getting our potatoes out of the oven and just about dropped the pan. I gasped and Holt asked what happened. So I tell him I almost dropped all the potatoes. And his response was, “That was not cool Mom.” He also has just about the sweetest and most convincing “Please Mom” I’ve ever heard when he wants something. And a “sorry mom” that can’t help me from forgiving him. And the one saying that cracks us up lately is “gotta go peep,” not pee peep or pee or number #1, but Peep!
When we decided to have a third and afterwards I always felt a little bad for Holt, thinking he would be a middle child and had to follow Pierce and then a sweet baby girl behind him. However, he has nothing to worry about, he has captured our hearts and everyone who meets him and is such a blessing to our family. We love you buddy!! Happy 3rd Birthday!

Look how much he has grown up in three years!

More Snow...

Here are some pictures from our second Saturday snowfall.

Holt reminded us a little bit of Randy from "A Christmas Story" when we got him all bundled up.
Camden was watching her brothers play out front.
